HH Product Update – What we did in April

Hello and welcome to the April edition of the Hiring Hub product update!

After what felt like an infinite March, April saw HH Tech start Q2 in anger from our new home offices.

Favourites Status

Last month, we introduced you to our new feature for employer users. Much work has been done and we can now show you what it looks like!

As a reminder, the purpose of this feature is to allow employer users to review candidates and mark them as favourites if they feel they meet the brief. It’s possible to mark several candidates as favourites. The appearance of the candidate card will change, so employer users can instantly see which candidates have been marked as a favourite. It’s important to note here that the ‘favourite’ status does not count as an interview or offer, it’s simply a way for an employer to add a marker to the application to say ‘I like this one’. Feedback within the agreed time scale is still required if candidates have been added to the favourites.

From a recruitment agency perspective, this is another step in understanding what the employer is really after. Agencies will be notified if their candidate has been marked as a favourite, which will help them refine their search for further candidates. It will also give them more information on where their candidate is up to in the process. Even if they haven’t been invited to interview yet, at least they can see they’re being considered. This is all about giving some power back to our agencies, so they can tell their candidate “Great news! You’ve been marked as a favourite for the role!”.

Here it is…

Employer users can only add someone to their favourites when they are in the ‘Submitted Candidates’ column, using the cog in the top right corner of the card. When the candidate is marked as a favourite, the card will then have a blue border.

Once the candidate has been marked as a favourite, the recruiter will receive a notification to let them know so they can give the good news to the candidate!

We’re looking forward to shipping this and seeing how the recruitment process benefits from this feature. If you come across this feature, let us know what you think.

Premium

In March, we introduced you to our latest employer user offering – Hiring Hub Premium. Great news – this is now live and available for new and existing users!

To recap, Premium is a new, paid proposition for employer users to help those that could do with an extra pair of hands to help them with the admin associated with managing multiple recruitment campaigns and agency relationships. It features a full (human!) concierge service, alongside an advanced data and analytics dashboard to give employers greater insight into their recruitment activity, performance benchmarks, and spend. You can see the dashboard below:

While we’re grappling with COVID-19 and the curveballs it brings, this is available for free for employers. If you’re interested in hearing more about it and seeing how it looks, our wonderful employer team would be happy to show you around.

Referral Scheme

A little something we’ve created for our employer users is the in-app referral scheme. If one of our employer users refers a friend to Hiring Hub, and the friend posts a job, both users get a £50 voucher.

To our employer users reading this, you can find this at the top of your screen, alongside your messages and notifications.

Moving to a percentage fee

To those of you who don’t know, Hiring Hub operates on a fixed fee basis right now. You upload a vacancy, decide how much you want to pay as an agency fee, and that’s how much you pay! It’s not dependent on the final salary of the candidate and, for fairness, we don’t let you change the fee mid-way through the process.

We’ve been thinking about this for some time, and we’ve decided it’s time for a change. So, we’re moving away from a fixed fee marketplace, and towards a percentage fee marketplace. This is in keeping with the rest of the recruitment market, and our research tells us that it’s favoured by our employer and recruitment agency users.

What does this mean? This means that now, when a job is uploaded onto the platform, the employer user will determine a percentage fee for that role, which is dependent on the final salary accepted by the candidate.

This change will be implemented in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for more communications around the specific changes for employer users and agency users.

As ever, we would love to know what you think!
