Hiring Hub Product Update – What we did in April?

This blog is a short summary of the great work our tech team has done for our users during April 2019. If you enjoy reading this post, let us know – we’re experimenting with a more regular product update blog.

Tech Debt Week

The team had the opportunity to take some time away from building new features this month to address some legacy tech debt. It’s crucial for us to ensure we have a system that is built and optimised to create amazing new features for our users.

After undertaking a tech debt blast for a week, our next sprint has already been more productive!

The team are picking up the new features and getting them done in double time. Not only is the implementation easier now, but the testing process is getting easier too. Fewer work arounds means fewer bugs to run into. A valuable exercise for the team and business.

Agency Candidate Page

One of our focus items this month was upgrading the candidate page experience for our agency users. Given that agencies are our paying customers, they deserve some love in the form of jazzy new pages!

The first slice of upgrading the agency experience on the platform was the refresh of the application summary page – which we have now named the ‘Candidate Page’. The purpose of this page is for agencies to easily see all the information relating to a candidates’ application, and action those applications in one page.

The page now clearly shows the status of the application – is your engagement pending? Is your candidate at interview stage for the particular role? The right hand side of the page allows agencies to action their candidates – confirm interview requests, accept/reject offers etc… and select interview date and time. The new page allows agents to message employers about specific applications within the ‘Message History’ tab, keeping all correspondence in one place.

Job Hub for Employers

This month the team have been working on expanding the job hub for our employer users.

The job hub model was developed to create a richer user experience for our users.

With everything within 1 page, our employers can click on their jobs and easily see what they’re recruiting for (job profile), who is working on the role (agents) and who has been put forward for the role (candidates).

At present, we have a kanban board, or ‘Candidates’ tab, for a birds eye view of candidate progression through job stages.

Our new ‘Job Profile’ tab (seen below) is a refreshed version of the job description page. With some new styling and more prominent text, the new Job Profile page is a fitting face for the Job Hub, allowing our users to view and edit their jobs easily.

We’re in the final stage of verification for the ‘Job Profile’ tab before we release it to all of our employers.

The next slice of the job hub development is the agents page. The purpose of this page is to show employers all of the new engagement requests for their role, currently engaged agencies and any disengaged agencies, in one page. This information was spread over numerous pages, creating a less than ideal user experience.

Now, with the bringing together of the jobs profile, agents page and candidates, our employers have a much clearer journey through the platform.

Job Hub for Agencies

For all HH agencies reading this and thinking “The new job hub is looking great – when can I have one?”, the answer is SOON!

The team is in the process of putting all of the pieces together for you. That includes a kanban board, a refreshed employer profile and job profile page. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you anymore just yet – we need cool stuff to talk about next month. Hang in there!
