Hello again! October has been a month of user feature development here at Hiring Hub Tech. This blog is a tale of 2 current user features – one for our employer users and one for our recruitment agency users. As ever, let us know what you think.
Interactive Kanban
For some time, we’ve been looking at the kanban board and wondering “Wouldn’t it be great if we could make it more.. jazzy?!”. What exactly was ‘jazzy’? What did we want it to do?
Currently, if you want to action anything with candidates on the kanban board, it takes 5 clicks. But wouldn’t it be great if it took 0 clicks? How could we do that? If we couldn’t manage 0 clicks, how could we get it down to the lowest number possible?
3 words – drag and drop. Drag and drop kanban isn’t the catchiest of names so we opted for interactive kanban.
What exactly is interactive about the new kanban board, I hear you say? Well, our employer users will be able to reject candidates more easily, simply dragging from one column to another. They will also be able to request interviews more easily. By, you guessed it, dragging and dropping candidates into the appropriate column, sending a short message, and away you go! To complete the candidate journey, employer users can also make job offers directly from the board.
How can you make an offer from the kanban board when it’s drag and drop, I hear you ask. We’ve included a handshake icon on the candidate card that once clicked, allows users to create a job offer directly from the board. Check it out below.

In line with Hiring Hub’s Tech release strategy, we have a couple of rounds of testing to go before it’s ready for our users. So please keep your eyes peeled!
Recruitment Agency Jobs Index
In the same vein as the kanban board, Hiring Hub Tech have been waiting to undertake the overhaul of the ‘Your Jobs’ page for our recruitment agency users – hereby referred to as the jobs index.
Our users have given us feedback on the page and what they would like to see, so we set about creating a new and improved jobs index. I’m pleased to say we did it! Feast your eyes, reader.
The main pain point was the difficulty in easily searching for jobs on the page, so we focussed on making this function more user friendly.
At first glance, you will notice there is no pagination. We’ve implemented an infinite scroll on the page to make it easier to find the job you’re looking for. From this view, our users can now search using the search bar at the top of the page. This can be used for job title or location search. There are filters for simplified job finding too – active jobs, pending jobs, your filled jobs and closed jobs. To be clear, an active job is a job that our recruitment agency can source candidates for.
The CV limit of each job is clear to see, as is the candidate count. The candidate count has been split into read and unread applications, and this will change when the employer user has taken action on the submitted candidates.
All of the key functions of the page still remain – submitting candidates, disengaging from roles and messaging the employer user. As on the current version of the jobs index, the job title, employer name and candidate count take users to the associated page of the job hub.
We’re onto the home straight with this feature now and we’re expecting to show our recruitment agencies their new page soon. Let us know what you think when you see it!
